What's the difference between open coil, and pocket sprung mattresses?
| Well as you can see in the picture on the right a pocket sprung mattress has lots of individual springs standing upright, and each spring is within a a fabric pocket, well that's what pocket sprung means. Each spring on it's own isn't actually very firm, but because there are so many they give you excellent support due to the fact that they contour to your body.
The springs shown on the right are open coil springs. Open coil means that there are usually only around 360 springs (for a double mattress). Each of the springs is linked together within a wire frame. Open coil springs are the traditional type of springs used in mattresses. The disadvantage with open coil springs is that they create a sprung platform instead of contouring to your body like the pocket springs do. |

Can I collect the bed from you in order to save on delivery?
We are based in Hertfordshire. We don't actually have a shop or a warehouse, which is how we manage to keep our overheads down, and sell at wholesale prices. We collect the beds from the factory in West Yorkshire, and then deliver direct to your door. However you can collect from the factory if you want.

Can I specify a delivery day or time?
We deliver using our own transport, so delivery depends on where you are on our route. However we try our best to fit in with customers requirements (and we usually manage it). The best way to guarantee a delivery day is to order as early as possible so that we can plan the route to suite you. Using our own transport gives us more flexibility, and allows better communication between the customer and driver. We can usually give a delivery time within an hour or so either way. We also give you our drivers mobile number, and he will contact you when he is on his way.

Can you supply a base only?
yes we can supply a base only. Contact us for more details.

Can you take away the old bed?
I'm afraid that due to health and safety laws preventing us from transporting old beds in the same vehicle as new beds, we can't take them away. However it might be worth contacting your local council, as some will take them away.

Is the mattress included in a divan set?
A divan set is the base and the mattress.

What is the delivery time?
We usually deliver to most of England each week. However delivery to some parts of the UK can be up to two weeks. This isn't cast in stone. If for example we have sold very few beds in Scotland, then we may need to wait up to three weeks in order to fill up the van (this is very rare).

What is the length of this mattress?
The standard length for single or double mattresses is 6'3". King size and Super king size mattresses are 6'6" long.

What methods of payment do you accept?
We accept all major credit and debit cards (not diners club). We accept cash on delivery, cheques (cheques must clear before we deliver). We can also accept paypal, but we don't really like them.

What's the difference between 'Platform Top' and 'Sprung Edge'?
| A platform base is basically a box which may or may not contain drawers. It has a hard top which is a platform for a mattress to sit on.
As for a sprung edge base, well I don't know why they call it sprung edge, they should just call it a sprung base. It has a layer of springs on top of it. This has the effect of giving the bed a slightly softer, and more luxurious feel. |
