The Melbourne mattress has a pocket spring unit containing 2000 full size steel springs in their own individual pockets. It is quilted with layers of flame retardant white cotton felt and other luxury fillings
Many mattresses that are made with 2000 pocket springs use two layers of smaller springs. This doesn't allow full spring travel, and makes them unstable. The Melbourne contains 2000 (in a king size), full size steel pocket springs
