It is covered by deep layered upholstery, topped with a thick layer of nubond polyester (stitchbond) fabric, making the mattress soft and comfortable.     This is not one of those cheap and nasty mattresses that you can feel the springs through. Please Note: this model is only available in stitchbond fabrics, if you want a damask cover then take a look at the Elitta mattress.
