We recently sold an Venice and a Madrid mattress to an osteopath. So we asked their professional opinion on the best type of mattress for back support. They told us that most of their profession recommends a combination of pocket sprung and memory foam. They also went on to say that if you can't afford pocket sprung with memory foam, then the next best option is just pocket sprung, and that they are far superior to reflex foam and memory foam mattresses that seem to be the most common memory foam mattresses on the market.

The Madrid King Size Divan Bed's mattress is 11" deep comprising of a medium to firm 6" 1000 pocket sprung (in a 5' king size mattress) layer. This then has 2" layers of visco elastic memory foam both top and bottom for ultimate support.
The Venice mattress is 11" deep comprising of a soft to medium 6" 1500 pocket sprung (in a 5' king size mattress) layer. This then has 2" layers of visco elastic memory foam both top and bottom for ultimate support.
The Max Coil Mattress by Kozeesleep is constructed from 70mm of high density memory foam over an Open Coil Spring Unit, and is then topped with Coolmax fabric.

The All Seasons 1000 mattress contains 1000 pocket sprung (in a 5' king size) to give a medium to firm feel. It then has two different sides for summer and winter use, with memory foam on one side, and hand tufted traditional quilting on the other.
