We recently sold an Venice and a Madrid mattress to an osteopath. So we asked their professional opinion on the best type of mattress for back support. They told us that most of their profession recommends a combination of pocket sprung and memory foam. They also went on to say that if you can't afford pocket sprung with memory foam, then the next best option is just pocket sprung, and that they are far superior to reflex foam and memory foam mattresses that seem to be the most common memory foam mattresses on the market.

The Violet mattress is 10" deep comprising of a 6" deep open coil spring unit. This is then topped with a 2" layer of high density visco elastic memory foam for ultimate support.
The Venice (formerly Eros) mattress is 11" deep comprising of a soft to medium 6" 1500 pocket sprung (in a 5' king size mattress) layer. This then has 2" layers of visco elastic memory foam both top and bottom for ultimate support.
The Max Pocket Mattress by Kozeesleep is constructed from 70mm of high density memory foam over a 1000 pocket spring unit, and is then topped with Coolmax fabric.
